Job summary

Roper Pumps is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance program for the plant’s equipment, ensuring high uptime and efficiency. You will oversee a team handling waste water, janitorial, and grounds maintenance, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

The role requires experience in maintenance leadership, strong communication, and the ability to manage vendors and capital projects. OSHA familiarity and precise documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing maintenance staff and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, electrical drawings, blueprints, and procedures.
• Proficient in documenting, reporting, and maintaining records; exposure to OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage maintenance programs for facility equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, test stands).
• Maximize uptime and efficiency through best practices and preventive maintenance.
• Manage teams for waste water, janitorial, and building/grounds maintenance.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with emissions, hazardous waste, and storm water requirements.
• Oversee 3rd party vendors and service providers.
• Serve as system administrator for plant maintenance software.
• Lead capital spending projects and equipment moves/installation.

Job description

• Implement / manage manufacturing facility’s maintenance programs for equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, hones, hobbing machines, and test stands.
• Maximize equipment uptime and efficiency thru best practices implementation and preventative maintenance.
• Manages team that handles waste water discharge, janitorial services, and building & grounds maintenance.
• Manages reporting for and ensures regulatory compliance with emissions, hazardous waste, and storm water requirements.
• Manages 3 rd party vendors to support responsibilities as needed.
• System administrator for plant maintenance software.
• Facilitates capital spending projects and equipment moves / installation.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages facilities and maintenance personnel. Responsibilities include hiring, training, work assignments, performance reviews, addressing complaints, and resolving issues.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education:

Associates degree and three (3) years of plant maintenance experience, or 5 years of management experience in plant maintenance. Familiar with OSHA regulations.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret pneumatic and hydraulic schematics, electrical drawings, blueprints, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, vendors, and government agencies.

Other Skills and Qualifications

Must have excellent communication skills that enable the manager to develop and maintain relationships with managers, colleagues, peers, and subordinates. Must be able to organize and maintain detailed and accurate records. Computer proficiency is required in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
