Job summary

RENK America is seeking a Maintenance and Facilities Manager to oversee all facility operations at our Muskegon, MI site. You will manage maintenance, vendor relationships, and budget planning to ensure uptime of critical equipment and infrastructure.

The role requires 6+ years in engineering, leadership experience, and strong knowledge of lean methods, Six Sigma, and project management within a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or related field with 6+ years relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or related field with 4+ years relevant experience.
• Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment and a minimum of 3 years leading a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication skills and working in a union environment.
• Technically proficient: Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatics & Project management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance operations for building systems, machinery, equipment, and grounds.
• Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
• Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate maintenance staff and contractors.
• Coordinate and supervise facility repairs, upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee facility services such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and janitorial services.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance.
• Develop and manage budgets for maintenance, repairs, and facility operations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Develop centralized spare parts crib and a structured reorder process.
• Implement technology to improve maintenance department including use of tablets and systems that support the team.
