Job summary

City of Methuen is seeking a Building Maintenance Superintendent to manage municipal buildings, supervise staff, and coordinate contracts for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and grounds. Qualifications

• High school diploma and 5+ years in building maintenance or facilities management with 2+ years supervisory experience.
• Massachusetts Journeyman or Master Electrician license required at time of application.
• Knowledge of NEC and safety codes; traffic signal systems experience preferred; bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, repair, and safe operation of municipal buildings and facilities.
• Supervise maintenance personnel and contractors; plan preventative maintenance programs.
• Coordinate emergency repairs and manage outside vendors for specialized work.
• Respond to facility issues, including winter maintenance such as plowing and salting.
