Job summary

City of DeSoto is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to lead a maintenance team responsible for city buildings and infrastructure. You will set priorities, adjust schedules, and monitor safety while coaching staff.

The role requires an Associate’s Degree, 3 years of related experience, and relevant HVAC or Master Electrician licenses. Night and weekend work may be required for special events or activities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required.
• Three years of related work experience.
• HVAC or Master Electrician License required.
• Valid Class B Driver’s License with good driving record.
• Position may require night and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Direct, monitor, and supervise staff to ensure services are performed as specified; conduct field visits and spot checks.
• Schedule and conduct training and safety meetings for staff.
• Track and assist in preventive maintenance on City building equipment.
• Ensure equipment and materials are maintained and repaired as needed.
• Oversee carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical systems, and minor structural work.
• Determine equipment, materials, and safety needs for projects.
• Read maps, diagrams, schematics, contracts, and work orders.
• Troubleshoot problems and implement effective solutions.
• Oversee contractors working on City facilities.
• Provide timely responses to internal/external concerns and complaints.
