Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required prior to start date.
• Valid Illinois driver's license required prior to start date.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems preferred.
• Ability to read and understand work orders, safety procedures, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Support skilled trades in building maintenance, repairs, and minor installations.
• Conduct routine facility inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Assist with equipment delivery, inventory, and shop organization.
• Respond to facility service calls and emergencies as needed.
• Operate hand tools and maintenance equipment safely and under supervision.
• Support event setup or teardown and snow/ice management as required.
• Maintain on-call status for emergencies and after-hours events.
• Submit requests and quotes for supplies per District procedures.
• Collaborate with district staff to keep facilities functional.
• Provide relief as a custodian floater when needed.
