Job summary

Beach Park School District #3 in Illinois seeks a Maintenance Worker to keep buildings clean and safe, manage basic repairs, and support school operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to perform physical tasks and operate building systems under supervision.

You will work under the Director of Building and Grounds to ensure a secure, functional environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Ability to maintain professional relationships with staff and pupils.
• Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions.
• Ability to push/pull 50 pounds and perform required tasks.

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Regulates heat/ventilation/AC to maintain appropriate temperatures and conserve energy.
• Shovels, plows and salts walks and steps as needed.
• Checks exit doors and panic bolts during occupancy.
• Cleans classrooms, corridors, and bathrooms daily.
• Washes windows as needed; maintains grounds free of rubbish.
• Maintenance of floors and routine repairs under supervision.
• Reports major repairs to the Buildings and Grounds Coordinator.
