Responsibilities

  • Install equipment, hardware, and instrumentation systems in housings or assemblies.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on tribal buildings.
  • Travel to job sites in service area and coordinate with dispatch to maintain schedule.
  • Be available to work nights or weekends, on-call to service emergencies.
  • Maintain tribal vehicle and submit daily inspection forms and mileage logs.
  • Understand iWorQs work order procedure and cost of jobs.
  • Participate in training opportunities on latest technologies.
  • Identify and report potential system failures.
  • Push, pull, or move heavy items and work at heights or in crawl spaces.
  • Follow all tribal procedures and safety rules.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Facilities Program Manager is responsible for all facilities maintenance of tribal facilities. Maintain daily work records and prepares written reports as required. Coordinates the preparation and purchase of materials, equipment and labor requirements for needed repairs and maintenance work. Follows safety rules and regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Install equipment, hardware, and instrumentation systems in housings or assemblies.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on all tribal buildings.
  • Travel to job sites in service area, and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer.
  • Be available to work nights or weekends, on an on-call basis, to service emergency needs of the Hualapai Tribe.
  • Maintain good working order of tribal vehicle including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues, and maintain and submit daily vehicle inspection forms and mileage logs. Vehicles should be washed on a regular basis.
  • Understand Public Services iWorQs work order procedure and generate appropriate cost of job utilizing iWorQs.
  • Participate in training opportunities on the latest industry technologies.
  • Identify and report to supervisor potential system failures.
  • Be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small crawl spaces.
  • Observe all tribal procedures and safety rules
  • Individual must be a dependable problem solver
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or be able to obtain one within (6) months of employment.
  • 1-year related training at a technical trade school; or any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work
  • Must be willing to be become certified in Wastewater operator
  • Must be able to pass drug test(s) as required by Tribe
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and manuals, desire to exceed expectations.
  • Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.
Work Environment
  • Required to exert physical effort in handing and lifting 50 lbs. to 100 lbs. daily
  • Will be exposed to potential occupational risks such as burns, cuts and exposure to hazardous fluids, and working alone in isolated areas.
  • Exposure to physical environment which includes dust, noise, odors, extreme weather or other similar elements.
  • Noise from mechanical tools and equipment.
