Job summary

New Hampshire Ball Bearings, Inc. in California is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations by repairing and maintaining building systems, machinery, plumbing, HVAC, and utilities.

Responsibilities include PMs on equipment (air compressors, boilers, wash equipment), assisting with building improvements, and maintaining safety and records. Requires HS diploma or GED and 2 years’ related experience; overtime and weekend on-call may be required.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in facilities maintenance at a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and PM services on facility machinery and equipment such as air compressors, boilers, HVAC systems, wash equipment, coolant filtration systems, or mist collector systems.
  • Support building improvement projects including plumbing, metal fabrication, carpentry, painting and similar duties. Requires safe operation of forklifts and scissor lifts.
  • Handle a variety of chemicals and oils, including hazardous wastes. Utilize PPE and ensure proper labeling per state/federal requirements.
  • Maintain maintenance records. Detect and report unusual conditions and problems to supervisor. Follow safety rules and keep area clean.
  • Assist with general maintenance including cleaning, sweeping, trash removal, mopping of oil.
  • Available to work planned and emergency overtime and participate in rotating weekend on-call schedule.

Job Summary:

Responsible for repair and maintenance of physical structures, fixtures, grounds, machinery, plumbing, heating and air conditioning systems, and all utilities in support of business operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs and Preventative Maintenance (PM) services on facility machinery and equipment such as air compressors, boilers, HVAC systems, wash equipment, coolant filtration systems, or mist collector systems.
  • Support building improvement projects including plumbing, metal fabrication, carpentry, painting and similar duties. Requires safe operation of forklifts and scissor lifts.

  • Maintain necessary maintenance records. Detect and report unusual conditions and problems to proper supervisor. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Keep work area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Assist with general maintenance including cleaning, sweeping, trash removal, mopping of oil - to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Available to work planned and emergency overtime and participates in a rotating weekend on-call schedule
Job Skills & Abilities:
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills required e.g. sending emails, utilizing CMMS software via tablet or desktop
  • Ability to work independently, or as a part of a team with internal and external partners
  • Communicates effectively with written, oral, and verbal direction
  • Safely operates hand tools and basic power tools
Education and Experience:
  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Facilities maintenance at a manufacturing company or closely related industry preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, grabbing, twisting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
