Job summary

Waypoint is seeking a Maintenance Generalist to support the upkeep of the Virginia Home for Boys & Girls. You will assist the Facilities Manager with routine and preventive maintenance across buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe, welcoming campus for youth and staff.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of grounds/facility experience, plus a Virginia Driver’s License. Training and background checks are required, with on-call duties as directed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 2 years of grounds and/or facility experience.
• Virginia Driver’s License with good driving record is required.
• Must successfully clear background checks and complete in-house training.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on facilities, grounds, and equipment.
• Carpentry, painting, drywall repairs as needed.
• Basic plumbing (unstopping toilets, replacing faucets, repairing leaks).
• Basic electrical work (replacing bulbs, outlets, switches).
• Maintain cleanliness and landscape; snow/ice removal; power washing buildings.
