Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to provide continuous mechanical and electrical support for maintaining safe hospital facilities. You will respond to trouble calls, perform preventative and corrective maintenance, and document all work performed to ensure compliance.

You will also participate in safety inspections and collaborate with the maintenance leadership on equipment evaluations.

Qualifications

• Experience: Journeyman Stationary Engineer or five years in HVAC, plumbing, electrical maintenance and repair.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Licenses/Certifications: Limited Maintenance Electrician License (Oregon) within 3 months of hire; Refrigerator Piping Installers Certificate within 3 months of hire; Universal Chlorofluorocarbons Certificate within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and resolves emergency maintenance calls.
• Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and related structures.
• Performs watch standing on physical plant equipment, including chemical analysis and treatment.
• Checks and replenishes fuel, materials, and repair parts.
• Performs fire and life safety inspections with proper records.
• Identifies and documents work needed on equipment.
• Maintains documentation of work performed.
• Evaluates building equipment and systems; recommends changes.
• Assists with new building or expansion start-ups.
• Assists with snow and ice removal when needed.
• Performs building maintenance and inspections; conducts equipment safety testing.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service and clear communication.
