Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline preferred or significant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting facilities maintenance or plant engineering in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of utility systems (Steam, HVAC, Compressed Air, Water, Vacuum).
  • Experience managing maintenance projects, upgrades, and CAPEX initiatives.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and perform root cause analysis.
  • Exposure to preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Proficiency with CMMS/EAM systems such as Maximo.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Engineer

Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

We are partnering with a manufacturing organization in the Nashville, TN area seeking a Facilities Maintenance Engineer to support plant infrastructure, maintenance reliability, utility systems, and capital improvement projects. This is a hands‑on engineering role responsible for maximizing facility uptime, improving equipment reliability, managing contractors and vendors, and leading maintenance and infrastructure projects from concept through completion. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting industrial facility systems in a manufacturing environment and thrive in a fast‑paced, solutions‑driven operation focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred or significant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting facilities maintenance or plant engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of utility systems including Steam, HVAC, Compressed Air, Water Systems, Vacuum Systems, and general facility infrastructure
  • Experience managing maintenance projects, infrastructure upgrades, and CAPEX initiatives

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Support maintenance and reliability activities for facility infrastructure and utility systems
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and coordinate repairs for facility and equipment failures
  • Manage facility improvement, refurbishment, and CAPEX projects from planning through execution
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules and monitor maintenance compliance activities
  • Analyze maintenance and utility performance data to improve uptime and operational efficiency
  • Coordinate and oversee vendors, contractors, and service providers
  • Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for recurring issues
  • Support budget planning, project tracking, purchase orders, and maintenance reporting activities
Physical and Environment Requirements

Physical expectations and working conditions associated with the job may include standing, walking, climbing stairs, and working in both office and manufacturing plant environments for extended periods of time. Position may require occasional lifting up to 25–50 lbs, exposure to industrial equipment, utilities, varying temperatures, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Occasionally after‑hours, weekend, or emergency support may be required based on plant operations and project demands.
