Job summary

ResourceTek, LLC seeks an experienced Facilities Project Engineer - MEP to support facility expansion projects and ongoing modifications near Nashville, TN. You will work with the client's Facility Engineering and Project Management teams and vendors to lead project administration and deliver design solutions.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 5+ years in industrial facilities project management.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of Project Management in industrial facilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects, cost and schedule
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and ability to edit drawings

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outside contracted support services and liaise with Operations, Maintenance, and Safety personnel
• Collect data in manufacturing environments and develop design solutions and requisitions
• Modify drawings per technical specifications and assist in design development of mechanical and electrical systems
• Apply engineering principles during design solution development
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Job description

In support of our client, a global automotive OEM supplier, we are currently seeking an experienced Facilities Project Engineer - MEP to support facility expansion projects and ongoing facilities modifications. This program-based assignment will be located at our client's facility near Nashville, Tennessee and will work directly with our client's Facility Engineering and Project Management team and vendors to provide leadership and administration for various projects.

The individual we seek will ideally have a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other relevant Engineering. Candidates without a degree but with equivalent experience in the design and construction of industrial facilities will also be considered. Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects from design through installation is essential.

JOB DETAILS

• Coordinating outside contracted support services and maintaining effective working relationships with Operations, Maintenance, and Safety personnel.
• Working effectively in the manufacturing environment collecting data, developing, and implementing design solutions, creating specification, and requisitions for contracted services.
• Modify drawings in accordance with standard technical specifications and assists in design development of mechanical and electrical industrial facilities systems, that range from moderate to complex in nature.
• Must have basic knowledge of AutoCAD and file storage systems, as well as ability to edit manual drawings.
• Applies basic engineering principles in the area of discipline during the development of design solutions.
• Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in a related discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience as determined by department manager.
• 5 or more years of Project Management experience related to industrial facilities.
• Applies knowledge and skills to complex problems, coordinates work beyond own area of expertise.
• Advanced knowledge of discipline specific principles, standards and codes related to manufacturing, equipment and health and safety.
• Ability to manage small to medium scale projects, controlling cost, schedule, and the overall performance of the design solution.
• Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing processes; makes recommendations to improve standard procedures.
• May be required to act as a team leader within own area or department; does not supervise.
• Provides guidance to others and coordinates the work of teams.
• Acts as a facilitator to resolve conflicts within a team.
