Job summary

Evercare is seeking a Maintenance Director to plan, organize, develop, and direct the maintenance department in a nursing facility in Jerseyville, Illinois.

The role requires knowledge of boilers, generators, electrical and plumbing systems, and adherence to building codes and safety regulations. Candidates should be able to manage preventive maintenance, coordinate with outside vendors, and supervise maintenance activities within regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education or its equivalent.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and related mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of maintenance practices and regulatory guidelines governing nursing facilities.
• Maintain and inspect maintenance areas and equipment.
• Plan and carry out repair, new construction and equipment installation programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department.
• Direct the Maintenance Department's administrative authority and accountability.
• Coordinate maintenance services with other departments and report to the Administrator.
• Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.
• Repair facility/resident property and supervise outside vendors as needed.
• Identify and classify routine maintenance tasks to manage exposure to blood/body fluids.
• Inspect storage rooms and work areas for upkeep.
• Participate in government surveys and develop corrective plans as required.
