Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC seeks a Director of Facilities and Maintenance to lead planning, budgeting, and daily operations for buildings, infrastructure, equipment, and vehicles. You will balance long-term priorities with daily needs and ensure safe, reliable facilities for staff, volunteers, and visitors.

Reporting to the COO, you will guide the department, troubleshoot issues, oversee renovation and capital projects, manage contractor relationships, and maintain compliance with

Competenze

• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in facilities maintenance or related field with supervisory/management experience.
• Knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and repair, including vehicle/small-engine maintenance.
• Experience preparing or managing budgets and coordinating contractors, prioritizing maintenance work.

Mansioni

• Lead Facilities and Maintenance by setting priorities, assigning work, coaching staff, and maintaining accountability.
• Develop annual and long-term maintenance plans and preventive programs; advise COO on repairs and capital priorities.
• Prepare and manage the annual department budget; oversee purchasing and inventory.
• Decide whether repairs are done in-house or by contractors; provide hands-on troubleshooting as needed.
• Plan renovation/construction projects with scope, cost estimates, schedules; monitor safety, permits, inspections.
• Coordinate projects with volunteers and department leaders to minimize disruption for operations and visitors.
• Manage maintenance emergencies, after-hours inspections, and OSHA-compliant safety practices.
