Job summary

Certus Healthcare in Warren, MI seeks an Environmental Services Manager to lead housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance teams. You will ensure a clean, sanitized facility and supervise staff, uphold safety standards, and manage preventative maintenance and life-safety systems.

You will develop manuals, monitor budgets, and coordinate with regulatory bodies while maintaining records and training staff on chemical safety and HIPAA-related confidentiality. This role requires flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, heating and grounds maintenance.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively, to plan, direct and coordinate and implement maintenance and security programs.
• Knowledge of building codes, regulations and standards applicable to Facility operations.
• Experience managing employees.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain environmental services operation manuals including security, emergency preparedness, preventative maintenance, contractors and manufacturers, warranties, infection control, chemical lists, and MSDS.
• Maintain budget and purchase departmental supplies for maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry.
• Maintain records of services performed, preventative maintenance completed, disaster drills and in services conducted monthly.
• Oversees OSHA regulations for non-industrial work environment.
• Conduct regular maintenance rounds of the building, grounds, and systems to evaluate operational needs.
• Schedule and supervise inspections and maintenance of life safety systems; arrange pest control, waste removal, and grounds care as needed.
• Ensure staff are instructed regarding chemicals and hazards and given facility tours on hire.
• Inform patients and staff of security procedures and consult with local officials as needed.
• Attend department and staff meetings; serve as Chair of Safety Committee.
