Job summary

Smyrna Care Center – Exceptional Living Centers seeks a Maintenance Assistant for our Smyrna, TN location. Salary is based on experience and can reach up to $20 per hour.

The role involves maintaining and repairing the physical structures, ensuring safe lighting, posting signage, and supporting survey processes alongside the Maintenance Director. Strong English skills and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; or combination of education and experience.
• Driver's license per facility requirements preferred.
• Must be able to speak, understand and read the English language to safely and properly care for physical plant.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and repair services as needed, and as directed by supervisor.
• Promptly responds to emergency needs.
• Routinely assists with preventative maintenance.
• Assists with maintenance of lighting levels appropriate for tasks, without glare, supporting resident functioning.
• Assists with posting signs to identify smoking and non-smoking areas.
• Follows safety and reporting procedures.
• Ensures proper documentation is maintained.
• Assists in survey processes with Maintenance Director by instructing staff, being present when surveyors are on-site, and directing prompt responses.
