Job summary

Cataloochee Ski Area in Maggie Valley, NC is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to keep buildings safe, functional, and guest-ready year-round. You’ll work with the maintenance team on repairs, preventative tasks, inspections, and upgrades across the resort in a mountain setting.

This entry-level role offers on-the-job training with exposure to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general facilities work, while enjoying a mountain environment and employee perks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily maintenance and repair tasks throughout the resort
• Complete preventative maintenance assignments on buildings and equipment
• Replace light bulbs and assist with lighting fixture repairs
• Support HVAC maintenance, including changing filters and routine servicing
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs
• Assist with painting, drywall repairs, door adjustments, and other building maintenance needs
• Help maintain walkways, stairways, roofs, and outdoor facilities
• Participate in remodeling projects and facility upgrades
• Remove snow from walkways, entrances, and work areas during winter operations
• Assist with maintaining fire and life safety systems
• Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Position Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Assistant plays a key role in keeping our facilities safe, functional, and guest-ready throughout the year. Working alongside the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and maintenance team, this hands-on position assists with facility repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and improvement projects across the ski area.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic maintenance experience who wants to expand their skills in building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general facility maintenance while working in an incredible mountain setting.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with daily maintenance and repair tasks throughout the resort
