Job summary

Novi Community Schools is seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain, repair, and improve school buildings and facilities. The role covers indoor and outdoor maintenance, with a focus on safety, functionality, and a welcoming learning environment.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in building maintenance, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while prioritizing multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, construction, or a related skilled trade.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general building repairs.
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs.
• Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail.
• Professional communication skills and a customer-service mindset.

• Climbing ladders for maintenance tasks.
• Lawn care and snow removal as needed.

Facilities Maintenance Technician - Schools

Location: Novi, Michigan (48374) Schedule: 1st Shift, Year-Round Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Pay: $19.75/hour (apprentice opportunity also available at $17.75/hr)

Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain, repair, and improve school buildings and facilities at Novi Community Schools.

This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in keeping buildings safe, functional, and well maintained. The ideal candidate has experience with general building maintenance and is comfortable troubleshooting problems, completing repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and working both indoors and outdoors.

What We're Looking For
