Job summary

Fairfield ISD is seeking a Locksmith to maintain locks and hardware across facilities in Fairfield, Texas. The role supports a safe and secure environment by handling keys, locks, and access control systems. Immediate starting date with full-time, on-site duties.

Responsibilities include re-keying, master key schedules, and maintaining records of work performed. Collaboration with the Maintenance Department is essential to meet district codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to cut and issue keys and to install and repair locks/hardware.
• Ability to install, troubleshoot and repair mechanical locking and electronic access control devices.
• Read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures.
• Maintain inventory and keep good records.
• Use hand and power tools applicable to the trade.
• Communicate effectively with staff and users.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain locks, exit devices, closers, file cabinets, chairs and other hardware.
• Re-key locks and cut keys as masters, sub-masters, area masters, or individual locks.
• Create master key schedules for new buildings and re-key existing facilities.
• Install/repair door hardware and hydraulic closing fixtures.
• Maintain records of work performed; assist supervisor with hardware compliance.
