The Head Custodian position at Sterling Middle School leads daily custodial operations, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and an inviting building environment. You will coordinate custodial staff, work with administrators, and schedule deep cleaning during breaks to maintain high standards.

The role requires initiative, strong organizational skills, and proactive problem solving to support smooth school operations and emergency readiness.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and custodial equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work safely.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Mansioni

• Oversee daily cleaning, sanitation, and upkeep of the school building.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards in classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and common areas.
• Establish and follow cleaning routines to ensure building care.
• Perform custodial tasks (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc.).
• Monitor facility condition and address areas needing attention.
• Ensure classrooms and common areas are clean and prepared.
• Coordinate deep cleaning and major projects during breaks.
• Lead custodial staff and model professionalism.
• Assist with scheduling and building coverage.
• Provide training on cleaning techniques and safety.
• Monitor duties and report concerns to principal.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment.
• Identify staffing needs and efficiency improvements.
