The City of Sterling is seeking a Custodian for the Service Center to perform cleaning, maintenance, and light repairs of public facilities. The role uses hand tools and light equipment, under supervision, with emphasis on quality standards.

Schedule is 5 days a week with evening shifts around 3:00 PM for 3–4 hours; occasional overtime may be required. Requires 1 year of cleaning experience and a high school diploma. CJIS awareness is noted as training.

Competenze

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repair/maintenance.
• Ability to operate light custodial equipment and handle cleaning supplies safely.
• Ability to read simple manuals and follow instructions.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physical tasks.

Mansioni

• Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, buff floors and clean carpets.
• Clean restrooms, lockers, windows, and office areas; stock supplies.
• Remove trash and maintain outside areas; apply sand/salt as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance and operate custodial equipment.
• Follow safety rules, protect confidential information, and report issues.
