Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a dependable Janitorial & Facilities team member to keep the Center for Social Justice + City Mission clean, organized, safe, and ready to serve in the Chicago area.

This hands-on role involves light maintenance, event setup, moving furniture, restocking supplies, window cleaning, and driving a Salvation Army vehicle for pickups and deliveries up to twice monthly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year janitorial experience.
• Must obtain/maintain a clean MVR for Salvation Army vehicle driving.

Responsibilities

• Report maintenance issues to CSJ+CM Director and Officer-in-Charge.
• Address light maintenance needs (hanging pictures, replacing light bulbs).
• Assist with event setup and teardown of furniture, displays, etc.
• Assist in moving furniture, boxes, and other heavy equipment.
• Restock supplies; spot-clean kitchens, reception areas, restrooms, and other spaces.
• Perform routine cleaning of interior and exterior windows.
• Keep janitor closet clean and organized.
• Maintain exterior of property and disposal of debris in dumpster.
• Drive a Salvation Army vehicle to pick up supplies and make deliveries in the Chicago area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
