Job summary

The County of Galveston is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to maintain and repair county facilities’ heating and air conditioning systems. You will install, inspect, and service HVAC equipment, and perform energy efficiency upgrades to reduce costs.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED and an HVAC license or certification, with strong troubleshooting skills. This full-time on-site role requires compliance with OSHA and related safety standards, with the Facilities Department

Qualifications

Requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent. HVAC license or certification required.
HVAC license or certification is mandatory for employment.

Responsibilities

Installs, repairs, and maintains air conditioning and heating units.
Inspects interior and exterior building HVAC systems and equipment; makes repairs as needed.
Performs routine maintenance and energy efficiency upgrades.
Diagnosing and troubleshooting system malfunctions, and repairing or replacing parts.
Inspects and testing HVAC systems and components; maintains accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service to equipment.
Ensures compliance with local, state and Federal laws (OSHA) and performs related work as assigned.
