Job summary

Sacred Heart University in Connecticut is seeking an HVAC Lead to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and operate campus HVAC systems, refrigeration, and Building Management Systems to support comfort, energy management and reliable operations.

The role requires 5+ years of HVAC experience; Connecticut S-1 license is highly preferred; strong knowledge of BMS/BAS, controls, reading drawings, and safety compliance is expected. On-call rotation and after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial/institutional HVAC experience.
• Connecticut S-1 license highly preferred.
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS) highly preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics and blueprints.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and operate HVAC systems campus-wide.
• Monitor and adjust system performance via Building Management System (BMS).
• Troubleshoot controls, BAS/BMS sensors, actuators, valves and VFDs.
• Perform preventive maintenance to maximize reliability and lifespan.
• Respond to service calls, maintenance requests, and work orders promptly.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and Facilities Management on projects.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation as required.
• Train and mentor maintenance personnel and apprentices.
