Peckham in Lansing, MI is hiring for a Grounds Level I role. You will assist the Grounds Coordinator and Grounds Technician with planting, mulching, weeding, and turf care across Peckham facilities in Mid-Michigan. Some seasonal building maintenance and snow removal may be required.
Must be able to climb ladders, read a tape measure, and possess or obtain a Michigan driver’s license within 90 days. The position is full-time with daytime hours.

The Facilities Grounds Level I position assists the Grounds Coordinator and the Grounds Technician in activities that preserve and improve the landscapes and other outdoor spaces at Peckham facilities throughout the Mid-Michigan area. Primary duties of this position during the growing season include planting, transplanting, hand weeding, spreading mulch and caring for the turf and ornamentals on Peckham properties. During the off season, responsibilities may include general building maintenance, hoop house and other maintenance at Peckham farm; basic building, equipment, and machinery maintenance. Responsibilities may also include general cleaning, leaf removal, setup/removal of holiday decorations, and snow removal activities. This position may work with Farm or Facilities staff on special projects as needed. This position utilizes a team approach for most projects and promotes Peckham's vision, values, and services to all customers and stakeholders. The position assists in maintaining organization wide quality standards. Access to reliable transportation is required.

This job will require the use of wheelbarrows, shop vacs, rolling scaffolding, folding ladders, extension ladders, power washers, assorted hand tools, shovel, hoe, rake etc., string trimmers, lawn edgers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, push mowers, riding mowers, ATV, UTV, Golf Cart, Scissor lift, hand tools, pumps, sprinklers, snow blowers, and salt and fertilizer spreaders, spot spray cans.
