Job summary
The Rapid is hiring a Building and Grounds Technician to join our Facilities team in Grand Rapids, MI. You will inspect, maintain, and repair buildings, grounds, and bus shelters, ensuring safe and functional facilities.
Preferred candidates have 2+ years in general shop or facility maintenance, experience with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and related trades, and a valid Michigan driver’s license. On-site role with overtime for emergencies and snow removal.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Michigan driver’s license.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new programs.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on buildings, grounds, and facility equipment.
- Perform maintenance and basic repairs on CNG station equipment.
- Maintain and repair building electrical and lighting systems.
- Service HVAC equipment and controls.
- Perform plumbing maintenance and repairs.
- Carpentry, masonry, and concrete work.
- Maintain landscape and irrigation systems.
- Operate and repair facility maintenance equipment.
- Perform snow removal and snow plowing.
- Respond to emergency facility maintenance needs.
