Job summary

County of El Paso maintains parks, golf course and surrounding areas. The Groundskeeper performs day-to-day general maintenance duties as assigned, including landscaping, irrigation, and facilities upkeep.

This non-supervisory role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year in grounds/turf maintenance, and a Texas driver's license with acceptable driving history. Applicants should demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent plus at least one year experience in grounds/turf maintenance.
• Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must have or obtain by date of hire Texas driver’s license applicable to job responsibilities, with a driving record acceptable to the County of El Paso.
• Basic knowledge of general construction and maintenance materials, procedures, and equipment for parks and golf courses.
• Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment and read and follow written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance on landscaping, equipment and facilities.
• Inspects equipment and facilities to ensure proper upkeep.
• Performs repairs on facilities and grounds, including golf paths, fences, and water features.
• Maintains cleanliness of restrooms and shop areas; tracks inventory and supplies.
• Operates trucks, mowers and other equipment as needed.
• Participates in events setup and clean-up; supports safety protocols.
