Job summary

El Paso County (CO) is seeking a Park Maintenance Technician I to help keep our parks beautiful, functional, and safe. You will perform maintenance, landscaping, and light construction tasks, operate tractors and skid-steers, and coordinate seasonal crews to support local events.

The role emphasizes independence, safety, and service, with a Monday–Thursday schedule from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. A valid driver's license and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of professional experience in grounds maintenance or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform grounds maintenance, including turf and irrigation maintenance.
• Operate light and heavy equipment such as riding mower, skid-steer, and tractor.
• Assist with facility/equipment maintenance and minor construction tasks.
• Coordinate activities of seasonal staff and volunteers.
• Support events and general park operations.
