Job summary

Winnavegas-Casino-Resort in Sloan Township, IA seeks a maintenance technician to perform upkeep across plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, and related trades while presenting a positive image in the casino and community.

Responsibilities include minor repairs, furniture maintenance, safety adherence, and assisting with grounds, signage, and vehicle service. Prior casino or hotel maintenance experience is preferred; strong teamwork and dependable service are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior maintenance experience preferred in hospitality or gaming environments.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs minor and routine maintenance tasks across plumbing, painting, electrical and related trades.
• Repairs furniture, doors, windows, and fixtures; replaces bulbs and filters as needed.
• Diagnoses and resolves minor facility or equipment problems.
• Assists with furniture setup, office moves, and redesigns.
• Notifies management about major repairs or additions to equipment.
• Provides prompt, courteous service to casino guests and staff.
• Operates within safety rules and company codes.
• Operates company vehicles to service locations.
• Maintains outdoor grounds including lighting, signage, and snow/ice removal.
• Plants and maintains greenery around grounds.
• Coordinates with following shifts with pertinent information.
• Performs additional duties as necessary.

SUMMARY

Performs maintenance service and light repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine service, electrical, tile work, furniture repair, upholstery, welding, and/or vehicle servicing. Must present a positive image in the casino and the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Performs minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.


2. Repairs furniture, doors, windows, cabinet work, small appliances and equipment; replaces light bulbs, filters, dimmers, locks and other duties as assigned by shift supervisor.


3. Diagnoses and resolves minor facility or equipment problems with or without assistance.


4. Assists with furniture set-up and construction, office moves, changes, and redesign.


5. Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.


6. Assures prompt, courteous service to all customers, internal and external.


7. Operates within the safety rules and codes set by the company.


8. Operates company vehicles to perform service for the company.


9. Assists in performing maintenance, repair and upkeep of all outside casino grounds that includes grass, trees, shrubbery, plants, sidewalks, fences, outdoor furnishings and recreational areas, building lighting, painting and signage, and parking lot lighting, signage, patching, striping, sweeping and snow/ice removal, and rodent control.


10. Plants grass, shrubs, flowers and trees and maintains by cutting, trimming, watering, fertilizing, and controls weeds either by spraying or physical removal.


11. Coordinates with and passes on pertinent grounds information to following shifts.


12. Performs additional duties as necessary.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE

Environment typically is a Class II or III Casino experience preferred.
