Job summary

Nisqually Indian Tribe is seeking a custodial and maintenance professional to support government facilities and properties. The role focuses on cleaning, basic repairs, and groundskeeping with a need for reliable attendance and professional appearance.

Responsibilities include building upkeep, event support, and landscaping, with an emphasis on safety, confidentiality of records, and positive relations with staff and vendors. A Washington state driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; pass pre-employment background check.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment background check as part of employment.
• A valid Washington State Driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets the minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, including changing light bulbs and addressing minor plumbing issues.
• Inspect for pests, structural damage, and equipment malfunctions, report findings to the appropriate personnel.
• Paint the interior and exterior of facilities and other structures as needed.
• Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other repair projects.
• Vacuum carpets; sweep, mop, dust, wax, buff, and strip hard floors.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areas; restock supplies as necessary.
• Clean and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Empty and sanitize garbage cans and ashtrays; manage recycling and waste disposal.
• Wash windows, glass doors, and other surfaces.
• Assist with setup, teardown, and preparation for events, meetings, and activities.
• Deliver, move, and assemble office furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Mow lawns, water plants, and perform routine weeding and pruning.
• Maintain landscaping features and remove debris from exterior spaces.
• Clean parking lots and walkways; collect and dispose of exterior trash.
• Perform basic repairs and routine servicing of maintenance tools and equipment.
