Job summary

State of South Carolina is hiring to oversee custodial and grounds maintenance at the McCrady Training Center and Army facilities statewide. You will supervise custodial staff and contracted workers, manage procurement with a purchasing card, and coordinate maintenance schedules and project bids.

The role requires managing time/attendance, travel, SHRO paperwork, and ensuring safety standards while maintaining building finishes and spaces for tenant and customer schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required with custodial/maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of custodial, groundskeeping or maintenance standards and safety practices.
• Experience with procurement, budgeting, and contractor management.
• Ability to supervise and direct staff and coordinate with vendors.
• Ability to maintain records and manage travel for official business.

Responsibilities

• Oversee upkeep of buildings and grounds at McCrady Training Center and SCARNG facilities.
• Supervise custodial staff and contracted support; ensure work meets standards.
• Serve as purchase card holder; handle purchases for buildings and grounds maintenance.
• Coordinate and schedule contracted work; review bids and approve contracts.
• Manage time/attendance, state travel for staff; complete SHRO paperwork.
• Maintain supplies, coordinate with Warehouse, and issue equipment.
• Inspect completed work and ensure proper turnover and payments.
• Ensure safety practices and supervise the maintenance of floors, restrooms, and spaces.
