Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily and emergency maintenance programs at a Level III Institution. You will develop plans for buildings and utilities, prioritize needs, and supervise staff including inmate workers.

The role requires an associate's degree with related experience, or a high school diploma with five years in maintenance, including supervisory duties. Training and development for staff will be part of the position, and a four-week basic

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and professional experience directly related to the area of employment.
• High school diploma with 5 years professional experience, including supervisory role.
• Prefer professional experience in facilities maintenance: plumbing, general construction, electrical, kitchen equipment, heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate, implement and supervise daily and emergency maintenance and repair programs for the facility.
• Develop maintenance plans for buildings, utility services, grounds, installed equipment.
• Determine requirements, set priorities, obtain required materials and equipment, and assign work.
• Establish on-call procedures to respond to emergency maintenance and repair calls and ensure the work is promptly and properly performed.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance program for the institution.
• Determine all items requiring periodic preventive maintenance and develop PM check list for each item.
• Schedule and follow up to ensure that preventive maintenance is completed as required.
• Develop plan and cost estimate, determine schedule, and obtain required materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Select, orient, and train new employees and inmate trade workers and evaluate their performance.
