Job summary

The County of Hawaii's Department of Parks & Recreation invites applications for a permanent full-time Facilities Maintenance Aide position at the Ho\'olulu Complex in Hilo. The role covers janitorial, groundskeeping and related manual labor to prepare and maintain facilities for sponsor use.

Shifts vary and may end at 11:30 p.m. Applicants should be able to lift heavy loads, operate maintenance tools, and follow regulations. A valid Hawaii driver\'s license is required.

Qualifications

• Eighth grade education and 2 years of janitorial/groundskeeping experience.
• Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools and light motorized equipment.
• Valid Hawaii driver’s license (Class 3) or equivalent.
• Willingness to work shift days/evenings up to 11:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Set up event facilities equipment and seating.
• Maintain athletic fields and grounds.
• Perform janitorial tasks and simple facility maintenance.
• Operate maintenance equipment and assist tradesmen.
• Open and secure facilities for sponsors and enforce use rules.
• Keep attendance/time records if required.
