Job summary

The City of Toledo is hiring for a Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker to maintain park facilities, buildings, and equipment across multiple locations. You will perform repairs, perform field maintenance, and assist with setup for athletic events.

A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required, with CDL Class B potentially needed for division-specific assignments. Strong physical stamina and ability to operate hand tools and small equipment are essential, along with

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
Two years of building maintenance or related experience.
Valid driver's license; Class B CDL may be required for some divisions.
Willingness to obtain CDL within probationary period if assigned to Parks & Recreation.

Responsibilities

Maintains buildings, grounds and equipment in good condition.
Inspects and makes minor repairs to structures and equipment (painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC).
Keeps exterior grounds and facilities clean; handles snow/ice and salting as needed.
Repairs, replaces fencing, bleachers, benches, and park equipment.
Maintains athletic fields, lays out fields and sets up goal posts and nets.
Performs minor electrical work and lighting installations.
Loads/unloads materials and moves furniture/office equipment.
Keeps records of maintenance activities and inspections.
