Job summary

The City of Mt. Juliet is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance worker to perform a broad range of building, grounds, and related maintenance.

You will handle carpentry, painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical tasks, and assist with HVAC and concrete work, ensuring city facilities are safe and well-maintained. You must meet high school diploma requirements and have experience in facilities or related trades, with a valid TN driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• General experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, construction trades, landscaping, or related field preferred.
• General knowledge of building maintenance, painting, concrete work, plumbing, electrical systems, and grounds maintenance.
• HVAC maintenance experience is preferred.
• Valid Tennessee driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to policies, safety requirements, and PPE.
• Inspect, maintain, repair, and improve city-owned buildings, facilities, grounds, sidewalks, greenways, roadways, and rights-of-way.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs to various components (carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, doors, windows, locks).
• Perform basic electrical and plumbing maintenance and repairs.
• Assist with HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting; HVAC experience is preferred.
• Perform concrete repairs and installation (sidewalks, curbs, pads).
• Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and light-duty landscaping equipment.
• Maintain landscaped areas and grounds.
• Conduct routine facility inspections and coordinate with other departments.
• Maintain maintenance records and material usage documentation.
