Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling in Louisville, Kentucky, is hiring a Maintenance Laborer to keep our maintenance facility grounds clean and safe while supporting multiple lines of business as needed.

You will operate hand-held tools, perform minor repairs, assist with shop housekeeping, and interact professionally with customers. The role requires basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience using hand tools and equipment is preferred.
• CDL driving experience is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude is desirable.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility grounds and surrounding areas, including shop cleaning and general housekeeping.
• Operate hand-held manual, electrical, and gas-powered tools and equipment.
• Ensure safe operating conditions of equipment and tools in compliance with rules.
• Pressure-wash and perform minor repairs to shop tools, bins, and containers.
• Transport, load, and unload shop supplies, parts, and tools safely.
• Assist with housekeeping of maintenance shops and offices.
• Perform minor repairs and general upkeep of the maintenance facility.
• Clean, prepare, and paint containers as needed.
• Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
• Support various lines of business or projects as needed.
