Job summary

County of San Benito is seeking a Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker I/II to assist with general maintenance, minor repairs, and grounds upkeep for county facilities. The role involves learning building trades, operating hand and power tools, and performing grounds maintenance under supervision.

Two levels offer increasing responsibilities, with II expanding to HVAC maintenance, equipment upkeep, and potential supervisory tasks for Community Service Workers.

Qualifications

• Experience in building and grounds maintenance is desirable.
• Possession of a valid California Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Assists with a variety of general maintenance and semi-skilled work in maintenance and repair of County buildings, facilities, and associated equipment.
• Performs basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical work under supervision.
• Maintains county grounds including mowing, weeding and watering turf.
• Operates hand tools, power equipment, and vehicles.
