Job summary

City Schools of Decatur is seeking a Maintenance General Technician to maintain school grounds and facilities, ensuring safe, clean, and well-functioning environments for staff and students. You will perform a range of trades including roofing, carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing, while using the work order system to document work and coordinate tasks.

The role requires at least 5 years of relevant experience and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of job-related experience within a specialized field.
• Valid Driver's License and evidence of insurability.

Responsibilities

• Maintains grounds and facilities to keep staff and public safe; performs preventative and immediate maintenance.
• Inspects grounds, equipment, and facilities to identify repairs and safety concerns.
• Maintains landscaping, irrigation, fences, and athletic fields.
• Performs general maintenance tasks across trades (roofing, carpentry, painting, electrical, etc.).
• Uses the maintenance work order system to schedule and document work.
