Role Description The Maintenance Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at the school campus in Stone Mountain, GA. This position is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on school facilities, equipment, and building systems to ensure a safe and orderly environment. Daily tasks include inspecting and repairing HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and minor electrical issues; addressing work orders; and responding to urgent maintenance requests. The technician will conduct regular facility checks, perform basic custodial and grounds support as needed, and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs. The role involves maintaining maintenance logs, following safety and compliance standards, and collaborating with school leadership and staff to minimize disruptions to classroom activities.

Qualifications

  • Strong Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair skills for building systems, tools, and school facilities.
  • Experience with Preventive Maintenance practices to reduce downtime and extend the life of equipment.
  • Effective Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and facility-related issues.
  • Background in Industrial Maintenance or similar facility maintenance environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repair techniques.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, safety procedures, and technical instructions.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and operate tools and equipment, and to work on ladders or in confined spaces as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time management skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training in maintenance-related fields is a plus.
  • Willingness to undergo any required background checks in accordance with school and regulatory requirements.
