Job summary

BRANCH ISD operates Branch Area Careers Center and multiple programs, providing life-long learning opportunities across districts. The Grounds Maintenance role supports daily upkeep of grounds, buildings, and safety systems, including mowing, landscaping, and minor repairs.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, some maintenance experience, and the ability to work varied shifts. Forklift and pesticide certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience in custodial, maintenance, or grounds work or,
• 2 years satisfactory work experience beyond high school.
• Good physical health, unrestricted use of hands and feet, and good eyesight and hearing (corrected).
• Able to work variable hours and shifts, as assigned.
• Able to plan work for self and others.
• Able to operate tractors, snow blowers, and other power equipment.
• Able to read and understand written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine work, repair, or service tasks in grounds maintenance, including mowing and landscaping.
• Maintain playgrounds, fences, signs, and parking areas.
• Perform electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks as needed.
• Handle maintenance of heating/AC and building systems.
• Assist with snow removal and salt application.
• Prepare and relocate school equipment and supplies as required.
• Keep records of maintenance activities and reports.
