Job summary

Qualifications

• 8th grade education and 5 years experience required in a similar field, OR high school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Over one year up to and including three years of experience is preferred.
• Non CDL Applicants - Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a criminal background check, drug and alcohol test, and a motor vehicle review.
• CDL Applicants - Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a criminal background check, and must pass a DOT-regulated drug/alcohol test and successfully complete the FMCSA Clearinghouse background check process.
• Work requires ability to learn geography of City including major streets and landmarks.
• Licenses and Certificates: Must possess a valid Texas class "C" driver's license or higher with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor within assigned division including maintenance and parks, landscaped grounds, playgrounds, facilities, special events, and construction projects.
• Operates, inspects, troubleshoots, and performs minor repairs of equipment and sets up work zones with safety procedures.
• Provides general maintenance support to special events.
• Work requires knowledge of basic operational, technical, or office processes.
