Job summary

Pikes Peak Post Acute in Antelope Valley Township, SD is seeking a maintenance worker responsible for keeping the grounds, facility and equipment in safe, compliant condition. You will follow maintenance schedules, report incidents, coordinate with nursing staff during routine tasks, and perform repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC as needed.

The role requires at least a 10th grade education, the ability to follow instructions, and good communication with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education.
• Ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds, facility and equipment in safe, efficient condition.
• Follow maintenance schedules for respective shift/area.
• Report all accidents/incidents to supervisor.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine tasks.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc.
• Perform repairs on plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical tasks as directed.
• Service heating and cooling units per manufacturer guidelines.
• Follow safety precautions when using equipment and supplies.
• Assist others in lifting heavy equipment or supplies.
• Keep work areas clean and equipment stored properly.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and report any privacy breaches.
