Job summary

Linden Post Acute is seeking a Maintenance Worker to keep grounds, facility and equipment in safe, reliable condition. You will follow maintenance schedules, report incidents, and coordinate with nursing staff to support resident comfort and safety.

The role requires practical maintenance skills across plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general repairs, plus the ability to handle routine tasks and respect confidential resident information. A 10th grade education is required.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education.
• Ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas.
• Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow maintenance schedules for shifts or areas.
• Report all accidents/incidents to supervisor.
• Coordinate daily maintenance with nursing services in resident areas.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on facility and equipment (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.).
• Replace light bulbs and clean windows as directed.
• Service heating and cooling units/systems.
• Follow safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
