Job summary

Missouri Veterans Home, operated by the Missouri Veterans Commission, seeks a Maintenance/Grounds Manager to lead a small team responsible for the upkeep of buildings, systems, and outdoor spaces. The role offers hands-on work, outdoor challenges, and collaboration with campus leadership.

The position requires the ability to manage preventive maintenance, schedule repairs, and participate in safety initiatives while supporting residents and staff. Missouri driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Four+ years in semi-skilled work in maintenance, grounds, or related field.
• Possession of a valid Missouri driver’s license or state of residence.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints; operate facility equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance/grounds team and oversee plant operations.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Provide 24/7 in-person or on-call support for operations.
• Recommend capital equipment purchases and budgeting.
• Maintain facility security and safe egress; coordinate repairs.
