Job summary

Memphis Sports and Events Center in Memphis, Tennessee is seeking a Facilities Director to oversee maintenance, grounds, and engineering systems. You will manage contracts, inspections, and safety compliance to ensure the facility operates smoothly during events and daily activities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher, at least three years of facilities management experience, and readiness to work irregular hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience managing facility cleanliness and operations.
• Ability to work irregular hours including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Facilities staff including hiring, training, scheduling and evaluation.
• Maximize department efficiency by analyzing issues and motivating employees.
• Direct cleaning, maintenance and use of building systems; supervise vendors.
• Coordinate cleaning schedules with daily MSEC activities and events.
• Maintain knowledge of building systems (HVAC, sprinkler, alarms) and safety compliance.
• Prepare preventive maintenance plans and manage budgets and invoices.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and participate in weekly managers meetings.
