Job summary

Worcester Public Schools is seeking a Coordinator of Buildings & Grounds in Worcester, MA. The role leads maintenance and custodial operations district-wide, supervising staff, coordinating contracts, and monitoring budgets and service levels to support student learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in facilities operations, maintenance, and custodial management.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills with accountability.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities in a complex environment.
• Proficient in MS Office and facilities-management systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Facilities with recruitment and hiring in accordance with policies.
• Supervise Assistant Coordinators and monitor work assignments and quality.
• Coordinate evaluation and performance of maintenance and custodial staff.
• Set department priorities and develop short- and long-term goals.
• Oversee procurement, inventory, and tracking of supplies and equipment.
• Assist with budget development and capital project proposals.
• Inspect and approve work of outside contractors and ensure compliance.
• Use data to analyze work orders, staffing, and costs for improvement.
• Coordinate staffing coverage during vacations and leaves.
• Maintain records and prepare reports for leadership.
