Job summary
The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking a Pumping Plant Mechanic Operator to perform maintenance and repair on mechanical and hydraulic pumping systems. You will operate automated pumping equipment to regulate water levels and quality, diagnose issues, and disassemble/reassemble components following technical manuals.
The role requires physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, walk on uneven ground, and hold a valid driver's license. This position is covered by the U.S.
Qualifications
- Experience with preventive maintenance and repair of mechanical/hydraulic systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals for assembly/disassembly of pumping plant equipment.
- Ability to operate pumping plant equipment including hydraulic lifts and dewatering pumps.
Responsibilities
- Performing preventive maintenance and repairs to mechanical and/or hydraulic systems.
- Operating automatic mechanical and hydraulic systems to pump water to specified water levels and quality.
- Diagnosing mechanical and/or hydraulic problems to replace or repair defective parts.
- Interpreting technical manuals to perform assembly and disassembly of pumping plant equipment.
- Operating hydraulic lifts, portable dewatering pumps, and electric air supply system compressors for pumping plant operations.
