Job summary

Lincoln Park Zoo is seeking a Facilities maintenance professional to perform a range of general maintenance, carpentry, masonry, and related tasks across the park. You will help maintain safety standards, assist with exhibit construction, and support daily operations with a focus on guest experience and animal welfare.

The role requires at least 2 years of construction/maintenance experience, a high school diploma, and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• General maintenance and/or construction knowledge.
• Ability to follow safety protocols in a busy environment.
• Willingness to learn new skills and operate varied equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fencing, fixtures, walkways, and other infrastructure around the Zoo.
• Repair and restore exhibits and structures for animals.
• Construct exhibit elements and install furniture and fixtures.
• Operate basic zoo vehicles and learn to use forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Escort subcontractors and communicate the park vision of work being done.
• Perform interior and exterior maintenance of zoo buildings and signage.
