Job summary

Boise State University is hiring a Building Facility Specialist to join the Athletics facilities and event operations team in Boise. The role involves securing areas on a schedule, operating forklifts and hand tools, handling chemicals safely, and providing backup coverage for other vacant facility positions during events.

The incumbent will interpret event documents, plan room usage, set up seating, staging, and AV equipment, monitor HVAC and lighting, ensure safety and risk management, and

Qualifications

• Some knowledge of basic arithmetic (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing).
• Experience in providing customer service and applying policies.
• Experience with facility preparation tasks including custodial work and setting work priorities.
• Preferred: valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Secure assigned areas on a predetermined schedule, including lights and doors.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts and hand tools.
• Handle chemicals and supplies using proper safety methods.
• Provide backup services for other vacant positions in the facilities group.
• Move office furniture and perform light maintenance like painting.
• Interpret event documents to plan room usage and equipment needs.
• Set up seating, staging, and AV systems; monitor HVAC and lighting and safety.
• Assist facility users and resolve inquiries and complaints.
• Report safety issues and evacuate during emergencies.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
