Job summary

Translucent Solar, LLC is seeking a hands-on Facilities & Equipment Maintenance Manager to lead our solar module manufacturing facility in Summerville, SC. The role focuses on equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and capital projects to boost production uptime.

The ideal candidate will have a mechanical/electrical engineering background, 5+ years in manufacturing maintenance, and experience with Siemens S7 PLCs. On-site role with cross-functional collaboration and safety emphasis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field plus relevant experience.
• 5+ years in equipment maintenance, facilities management, engineering, or related manufacturing operations.
• Experience with maintenance programs, contractors, and technical service providers.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, automation, PLC, and utility systems.
• Strong project management, troubleshooting, and reading technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily maintenance and reliability activities for production equipment, utilities, and facilities.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs and CMMS records.
• Respond to equipment failures and emergencies; provide technical coverage after hours.
• Track KPIs like uptime, MTBF/MTTR, and maintenance costs; drive root-cause actions.
• Plan facility expansions, equipment installations, and capital projects within scope and budget.
• Oversee mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, automation, and PLC-controlled systems including Siemens S7.
• Maintain HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, ventilation, and fire/life-safety systems.
• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance staff; promote safety and continuous improvement.
• Manage contractors and suppliers through scope, safe work, and turnover.
• Control budgets, utilities, inventory, and emergency purchasing; manage supplier risk.
